Recognizing the trend in leisure products, as in-ground pools began to give way to hot tubs, GPM introduced Great Lakes Spas in the early 1980's. In 2001, GPM broke ground on a new manufacturing facility in Holland, Michigan, allowing the company to proceed with several manufacturing objectives, including a more diverse product line in greater volume. In 2003 the company changed its name to Great Lakes Home & Resort, to more accurately reflect the company's strategic plan to be the leading resource for home resort products. In January 2007, Great Lakes was acquired by Emerald Spas out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Models shown: GL8, GL7, GL6, GL5, GL4, GL3, GL2SE, GL2, GL1SE, GL1, and Sunlighter.
